Quirk : FearDescription : Nia’s body is receptive to the chemical human’s produce in fear, her body can store up the chemical and release it from her pores, discharging it into her surroundings. It has about the same consistency as carbon monoxide; odorless and colorless, but can be seen in the air if one looks close enough. In short, she inhales nightmares and exhales a potent vapor. When breathed in, the effects range from a feeling of mild anxiety to nightmarish hallucinations that can impair those affected. People with stronger fortitudes are less impaired and more likely to have it wear off before it fades away. When used, she can omit a field that extends outwards from her, the size can vary from a fifteen foot radius to only her immediate surroundings. The more exhausted she is, the more she can put out and the more concentrated the chemical is. The downside is that she is more vulnerable physically when she’s overly tired. The main downside to her Quirk is that it's storing ability is passive and cannot be shut off. This results in telepathically viewing nightmares out of her control. Her sleep schedule suffers because of this.

Isomi Nia was born on December 21st in Kawanehon, Shizuoka to mother Isomi Hisa and father Isomi Akihiro.Hisa’s Quirk was dream telepathy and she worked as an accountant for a private firm. Akihiro’s Quirk, "fear olfaction", was the ability to smell fear and locate it's source. This Quirk allowed him to work as a relatively well-known Pro-Hero by the name ‘Bloodhound’ with a specialty in rescue situations; being able to recover missing people and those difficult to locate in disasters, as well as being capable of sniffing out distress on the streets. They lived a simple life for her early years, up until Nia’s own Quirk made it’s emergence when she was five. At first, her family believed that the child was suffering stress nightmares and had some difficulty when it came to sleep. However, after several medical tests later, they uncovered that her Quirk was the cause. The combination of her parent's Quirks enabled her to "pull" nightmares to her, and there was no way they could find to stop it.The doctor's had difficulty in labeling it, since she had no control over the ability and it had yet to show the full extent of it's nature, but it was marked at the time as “Involuntary Nightmare Telepathy”.After Nia's Quirk manifested, things at home became more complicated and strained. The young girl cried and screamed every night, begging to not have to sleep. Her father handled it better than her mother. Hisa avoided their daughter, particularly when she was having one of her distressed outbursts. Aki was able to calm her, relying heavily on old stories and lullabies to soothe Nia.It wasn't much later that tragedy began. Her father died from injuries sustained during a disaster rescue gone awry. Bloodhound went back into a building after it was deemed unsafe to rescue a civilian left behind and the roof came down on them. He took the brunt of the damage. Although there were no civilian casualties, the public safety commission had made several statements on the incident, stating it as a failure on the heroes part in following set rules. It sparked debate on where the line between doing their duty and following procedure needs to be drawn.Unable to cope with both the lose of her husband and the difficult nature of her daughter’s Quirk, Hisa surrendered her daughter to the system. Nia found herself at a place known as the Fukumoto Institution. An old product of Quirks from the days when they began. It was a place to handle the sudden influx of children without homes due to their abilities. In it's heyday, they cared for many but as time carried on and Quirks became the acceptable norm, the establishment suffered tremendously from lack of care and funding. Her stay there had been miserable, to say the least. The surrounding residents in the city treated them as unwanted and the staff was too underpaid to care.Nia struggled with her emotions in the following years, struggling to bury the need to cry and call out for help since she believed these to be the reason that she was left. She faced loneliness and apathy, but she found her greatest solace in books. The spare time she had locked in her room without sleep were spent reading anything she could get her hands on from the local library. In her first year of high school, she was able to discover the true nature of her Quirk. Exhausted and being pushed around by another student, her emotions got the better of her and the fear started to spread. Her body stores up the fear from her dreams, and with the right effort it pours out from her skin in the form of a clear, odorless fume, much like carbon monoxide. It caused a panicked uproar within the school, any within breathing range suddenly struck with terror and hysteria. The whole situation was labeled as an accident but the damage had been done and she was forced to move to another school. At her new school, she had a small group of misfit "friends". They made her the butt of the joke, but it was the best that someone like her could afford. Most notably a young man name Yori, who bullied her relentlessly.Shortly after Nia began studying at university, her mother was found brutally murdered in her home. Nia was considered a suspect by the authorities for a brief period of time, but with lack of evidence there was no way for her to be convicted and she was released with no charges. It was a silent secret that Nia kept to herself, as the incident hadn't been "intentional".Graduating from university with a Bachelor’s degree in literature, Nia got a job working as a librarian. Reconnecting with her old "friend" from high school, Yori, they begin a relationship and moved into an apartment together. He claimed that her bullied her because he had a brush on her and didn't know how to better act on it, and Nia accepted this. It was the best that she felt that she could do. It was her attempt at a “normal life”. Her boyfriend may have treated her like garbage, eventually driving her to attempt suicide. She was dumped on the entrance of the emergency room with a stomach full of sleeping pills and alcohol, but the staff was able to pump it out of her. Nia lived, with bitter feelings, resentful that she was forced to keep living. It wasn't much more than a year later when a call was received by the police that a fire had broken out within the apartment. A badly burned body was recovered from inside but upon investigation the cause of death was revealed to be the result of blunt force trauma to the head. Yori's body was identified but Isomi Nia had gone missing. With the little money that she had squirreled away for her escape, she purchased a fake id and the cheapest apartment she could find in the worst of towns. A nightclub gave her a job, paying her under the table, and she wanted nothing more than to start again. Nia hadn't even gotten comfortable with her new life when a man who claimed to be a broker found her, looking to recruit her for a group of individuals who might need her talents.
